Andrew Alaniz Jr. was born in Española, New Mexico on October 28th, 1985 to Andrew and Patsy Alaniz. The oldest of three children, Andrew was raised in Taos, New Mexico along his siblings, Aaron and Bethany.  A graduate of Taos High School, Andrew began playing guitar when he was in seventh grade and was a member of Mariachi El Tigre throughout high school. Andrew, a founding member of Mariachi Calor, more recently joined Darren Cordova y Calor sharing the duty of lead guitarist with Fabian Vigil.
